For all those over the age of 40 or those who somehow have missed this cultural phenomenon... this is Shakira! She is an international superstar. She sung the official World Cup song, and she is all together one of the biggest stars of our time.

Anyway, so when we were at Wema, the children absolutely loved Shakira. They sang the world up song constantly, so when Shakira was announced as the artist of the year at Harvard and we found out she would be coming here, we really wanted to share this with her. So, Alex, one of my friends who came with us to Kenya contacted the organizers of the event repeatedly, and sent them this video to show Shakira.

And, long story short, she saw it! And she liked it, and she signed a picture for the kids and took a picture with us. It was pretty amazing, and I can't wait to show the picture to the kids. They are going to be so incredibly excited!
